Church Council

The next meeting of the Church Council will be
Thursday, March 5, 2020
at 5:30PM.
Spotlight on . . . The Church Council
 The Church Council meets once a month to discuss the vision and ministry of the church as well as to take care of administrative matters. Membership on the Council consists of the Chairman of the Council, the Recording Secretary, the Lay Leader, the Lay Member to Annual Conference, the Historian, the Membership Secretary, and three at large members.   
  In addition, the chairperson of each committee or group at NHUMC is also a member. They would include the following : Board of Trustees, Pastor Parish Relations Committee,  Finance, Treasurer of Finance Committee,  Co-Financial Secretaries, Education, Worship, Missions and UMW.
Anyone in the church is welcome to attend the meetings, but only members of the Council can vote on issues that are raised.

The primary task of the Church Council is to:

(1) carry out the business of the charge conference;
(2) help the congregation articulate its vision;
(3) oversee planning of the congregation, and
(4) develop systems that assure people are received into fellowship,
guided and encouraged in their spiritual transformation and growth,
and supported as they live our their lives as Christian disciples.
            Members of the Church Council are a part of
the primary decision-making, evaluating, and
forward-looking body of the church. 
Membership includes the Chairperson, Secretary, Treasurer,
 Lay Leader, Lay Member of Annual Conference,
Membership Secretary, Church Historians,
and Chairpersons or representatives from each committee
as well as At-Large Members voted on at Charge Conference.
