Facility Use Guide
 
North Highland welcomes the use of our facilities keeping in mind that the manner in which they are used coincides with the church’s mission. Groups that meet or have as their objective profit making will not be allowed to use the facilities. In order to make the best use of the space and keep within the objectives of the church’s mission, the following priority is given to reserving the space.
 
              First Priority: Groups that are sponsored by or are a part of North Highland
          United Methodist Church. For example: Bible Study, Sunday School, Youth Group,
          After School Kids Group, etc.
 
          Second Priority: Groups that are sponsored by or a part of the Dakotas Conference
          of the United Methodist Church. This would include workshops for laity or pastors.
 
          Third Priority: Personal gatherings for North Highland members.  This would include
          birthday parties, anniversaries, graduations, and wedding receptions. Please note that
          graduation receptions may not be held on Sundays.
 
 
          Fourth Priority: Members of North Highland who reserve the space for community groups
          which are non-profit. The member who reserves the space must be present during the time
          the church space is used.
 
          Fifth Priority:  Non-members who will use the facilities for personal or
          community group purposes.
 
The church facilities --- sanctuary, Fellowship Hall, classrooms --- are to be respected and thought of as a place to meet and grow with God. Children should be supervised at all times. 
 
When reserving space at North Highland, you must fill out the Facility Use Form.
 
The use of alcohol, illegal drugs, and tobacco is prohibited on church property which includes the church building and the parking lot.
 
When reserving the Fellowship Hall, inform the office if you would like a certain arrangement of tables and chairs for your gathering. The office will then see to it that the tables and chairs are arranged to your specifications as much as possible. Please do not move tables and chairs yourself as that could cause damage to the round tables. 
 
Larger functions which involve over fifty people and involve a meal can not last later than 8:00 PM.
 
When reserving the Fellowship Hall please indicate whether you will need the use of the dishwasher. There is a separate fee of $20 for the use of the dishwasher for private non-church related functions which would include birthday parties, anniversary parties, non-profit community groups, etc. Someone from the church will be available to operate the dishwasher.
 
For meal type gatherings the church’s dishes, silverware, cups, and glasses may be used. They must be washed thoroughly and put away at the conclusion of the gathering. The church will not furnish coffee for priorities three through five.
 
If church linens are to be used, there is a $3.00 fee for each which covers the cost of cleaning.

THERE WILL BE NO FEE CHARGED TO MEMBERS RESERVING SPACE IN THE CHURCH.
 
Fees for Fellowship Hall Use - Non-members
 
 
No meal or a simple dessert.
 
    
      $25
 
Meal with disposable plates, cups, and utensils.
 
   
     $75 (Church kitchen help will be on hand.)
 
Catered meal using church’s plates, cups, glasses, and silverware with church staff clearing plates.
 
     
     $100 plus $1.00 per plate. (Church kitchen help      will be on hand.)
