 Celebrating—With Gratitude!
We have had a wonderful time naming and celebrating the many ministries that are a result of the people of North Highland! We will complete the church year with our theme of Until Further Notice Celebrate Everything! November 22nd is officially the final Sunday of the current church year—it’s kind of a New Year’s Eve celebration for the church calendar. And we will celebrate with exactly that idea in mind! The following Sunday is the first Sunday in Advent, which then becomes the new church year.
We express our gratitude in being a part of God’s Kingdom on earth in various ways as we function together as a congregation—a church family—a part of the Body of Christ. Our church mission year is rounded out with the final church-wide mission project opportunity, Shoe Box Christmas. All of our hearts are warmed when we see the response of children to these small gifts that embody God’s grace.
For what are you especially thankful as we approach the season of Thanksgiving? What might be a good response for you in sharing that thankfulness in the Kingdom as we complete this church year?
Philippians 4:4-9 4 Be glad in the Lord always! Again I say, be glad! 5 Let your gentleness show in your treatment of all people. The Lord is near. 6 Don’t be anxious about anything; rather, bring up all of your requests to God in your prayers and petitions, along with giving thanks. 7 Then the peace of God that exceeds all understanding will keep your hearts and minds safe in Christ Jesus.
8 From now on, brothers and sisters, if anything is excellent and if anything is admirable, focus your thoughts on these things: all that is true, all that is holy, all that is just, all that is pure, all that is lovely, and all that is worthy of praise. 9 Practice these things: whatever you learned, received, heard, or saw in us. The God of peace will be with you.
Peace and blessings to all,
Pastor Lou
