Celebrate North Highland UMC!
“When two or three of you are together because of me,
you can be sure that I’ll be there.” Matt 18:20 The Message
A couple of weeks ago the Sunday message was based on three questions from Rev Adam Hamilton of the Church of the Resurrection: 1) Why do people need Jesus Christ, 2) Why do people need the church, and 3) Why do people need your church [North Highland UMC]?
Since it seems easier at times to focus on what we may think is missing or what may not be to our liking, let’s celebrate NHUMC and some things that have and will continue to make an impact, both near and far!
*Coats for Kids will occur again on November 8th (we’ve been receiving
calls since August inquiring about the date!)
*Many, many Shoebox Christmas gifts will again be filled in December and
delivered by us to Enemy Swim Day School.
*This spring we held a food drive for Tree of Life, and have provided over
$650 in ministry support. (Thank you for supporting the Fish Fry!)
*We sent $400 plus 100+ pair of work socks from Run Your Socks Off to the
     Bakken Oil Rush Ministry.
*Many of all ages worked together for a very successful VBS in July.
*Sunday School numbers for kids and adults are up this year!
*The study Making Sense of the Bible begins November 2nd.
*A new 20-Something group has their first gathering October 26th.
*The youth will again hold a Halloween party and a Parent’s Day Out.
*Together we completed 51 school kits and 30 health kits for UMCOR.
*We hired a youth worker (Ezra Gargantiel) and added a second
     nursery worker (Susan Beckler)
*The UMW & others are preparing for soup and pie as this is written!
*We have many gathering opportunities Sunday and throughout the week.
We celebrate because we continue to be a church together!
Peace and Blessings,
Pastor Lou
